About the products
What does “sprouted” actually mean here?
The grain is cleaned, dehulled, soaked in water, then germinated under controlled conditions before being dried and milled. It is a slower and more expensive process than grinding a dry grain. In practical terms it changes how the flour handles — dough comes together more readily — and it reduces the antinutrients naturally present in whole grain.
Is there maida in any of your products?
No. Not in the noodles, not in the pasta, not anywhere in the range.
Are your products gluten-free?
Most are made from naturally gluten-free grains — millets, amaranth, rice and legumes. However, we cannot currently certify any product as gluten-free, because that requires testing for cross-contact in the facility. If you are coeliac or highly sensitive, please write to us before ordering.
Why does the carrot pasta lose its colour?
Because the colour is real carrot rather than pigment, and carotenoids leach into boiling water. The same reason some of our pasta breaks in the pot: there is no maida or wheat gluten holding it together. Both are the cost of leaving the fillers out.
Do the noodles come with a taste maker?
Yes. Every noodle pack includes a natural taste maker blend — chilli, coriander, onion, curry leaf, fennel, Ceylon cinnamon, cumin, turmeric, aamchur, pepper, dry ginger, fenugreek, star anise, clove, nutmeg and rock salt. No MSG, no artificial flavours.
Where are the nutrition figures from?
They are transcribed from the manufacturer’s pack declarations. Where a figure is a range, that is how it is printed — the nutritional profile of a sprouted grain varies with germination rate, variety and cultivation. Where a panel does not exist for a product, we leave the field empty rather than estimate it.
Storage and shelf life
How should I store the flours?
In an airtight container, ideally with a bay leaf or a few cloves. Once opened, refrigerate — the flour will keep well for around two months that way.
How long does everything keep?
Flours are best before ten months from packaging. Noodles and pasta run six to eight months, vermicelli four to nine months depending on the grain. Each product page lists its own figure.
Orders and delivery
Where do you ship?
Across India. Shipping rates and timelines are calculated at checkout.
Can I return an order?
Food products can only be returned unopened and in original condition. If something arrives damaged or incorrect, contact us with a photograph and we will replace it.
About TrooFoodz
Do you make these products yourselves?
No. We are a curated food brand — we select and stand behind what we sell, but we do not farm, mill or manufacture it. Our products are made by a specialist sprouted-grain producer working to our specification.
Are your products organic?
Some carry organic certification marks and some do not. Rather than apply a blanket claim, we are working through the certification documentation product by product and will state the position on each page once we can evidence it. We would rather say nothing than say something we cannot show you.
